Background and Idea
The website idea was found by Armandus Basson, Gavin Gates and David Wessels of the SACCW initiative in eMalahleni (Witbank). It initially started with the idea to become a small informative website for the neighbourhood which they are involved in with various projects and patrols. It never really got off the ground, until the combined thoughts of Armandus, Gavin and David saw the bigger picture – why not make it available for all the neighbourhoods in town.
With some brainstorming and ideas put together, it was decided that OurNeighbourhood become a central, informative and interactive website and system for all neighbourhoods involved. Pilot projects was run for online membership submissions, as well the management of data across selected neighbourhoods.
The Bigger Picture
TechStudio decided to sponsor the OurNeighbourhood project, as well as to align themselves with SACCW in Witbank. Alongside with David Wessels, Maureen Scheepers came on-board and worked closely with Armandus during the development of this project. A huge amount of information was used to create the informative pages on the website which are available to the public now. During the development of OurNeighbourhood, SACCW became legally affiliated with even more Emergency Response services in Witbank, which adds more value to the OurNeighbourhood program. TechStudio is proud to be involved with SACCW, as they have proved to be the better organization with constant success stories and the legal manners in which they handle each incident (unlike numerous other defunct groups unsuccessfully trying to break the speed and successes of SACCW).
If you browse through the OurNeighbourhood website, you will find all the Emergency Contacts you might need, as well as access to Zello response channels, and various community events and projects. It all comes down to one big community information site for involved communities.
TechStudio have designed the OurNeighbourhood website to be responsive, fast to load and to be a secure platform. The website is best viewed on a laptop/desktop computer with a screen resolution of 1920×1080, but as most users make use of mobile smart devices, the website works perfectly on your Smartphone, due to the liquid design elements. The website is also hosted with TechStudio’s trustworthy providers (for over 10-years a customer), therefore TechStudio is able to provide a reliable platform for all hosted content.
